Debasnana Purnima was celebrated without Devotee in PURI



Puri(Odisha) : Today is the full moon of the holy Devasnana. On the full moon day of the bath, Lord Sri Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra, Lord Balabhadra and Surdarshan left the Ratna Singhasan and take ceremonial bathing ritual outside his temple.

          For the first time, in the absence of devotees, the bathing ritual in Debasnana Purnima of Lord Sri Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra, Lord Balabhadra was celebrated today. Due to the lockdown of the corona epidemic, bathing was performed by a small number of Sebayata, and devotees were barred from entering the temple.


                     Lord Balabhadra was bathed in 33 pitchers of water, Lord Jagannath was bathed in 35 pitchers of water, Goddess Subhadra was bathed in 22 pitchers of water and Lord Sudarshan was bathed in 14 pitchers of water. 

Puri Badaanda will remain in force from 10 pm on Thursday to 2 pm on Saturday to prevent devotees from gathering. 

The Puri district administration has decided not to allow any devotees to visit during the 'bathing full moon festival' in view of the situation under the guidelines laid down by the central government and the state government under the guidelines of Covid-19 . Will be done in the presence of some services. For this, 38 police platoon forces have been deployed in Puri and each platoon has 33 police personnel.

The religious program was broadcast live by the temple administration for the devotees.

This is the first time in the history of the temple that a bathing procession is performed on the full moon day of the Devaswana by a small number of devotees in the absence of devotees.
